Copaiba Pain Rub
Copaiba Pain Rub
Copaiba Balsam is well known for its effectiveness in reducing pain and inflammation among other benefits. The aroma is a pleasant cedar smell. Below is a blend I enjoy using for pain and inflammation but also works wonderfully for dry skin.
4 ounces of organic coconut oil (softened)
25-50 drops Copaiba essential oil* (depending on your strength preference)
I use 4 oz. glass jars for all my essential oil blends to protect from rancidity. This also eliminates any absorption into plastic containers.
You can soften the coconut oil in the microwave but, be careful, coconut oil has a low melting point. Pour the coconut oil into the glass jar and add the Copaiba essential oil drops. Mix with either a disposable utensil or washable silverware. After mixing, place in refrigerator for a few minutes until firm.
*Note: If after mixing in 25 drops and you want it stronger, then add more until you’re pleased with its effect. I prefer mine stronger.
As with all essential oils, please check with your healthcare practitioner prior to using any new therapeutic essential oil to prevent any contraindications or interactions.
