What is a Nutritionist? (Read more...)

A Nutritionist can guide you in your journey to a healthier lifestyle. Nutritionists believe in the holistic, functional medicine approach which involves looking at all the body systems, how they are functioning together and supporting the root cause of your ailments.  We do not believe in ‘alleviating the symptoms’; rather, we believe that the symptoms are clues which will lead us to the root cause of your health issues.

As Alexander Pope had said, “Just as the twig is bent, the tree’s inclined.”
In other words, the longer the root problem remains unaddressed, your body will continue to experience symptoms.

Nutritionists have the expertise to help you with:
  • Nutrition education
  • Disease management
  • Cardiovascular conditions
  • Gastrointestinal disturbances
  • Inflammatory conditions
  • Musculoskeletal conditions
  • Neurological conditions (ADHD, ASD, Autism, Mental Health and more…)
  • Stress management
  • Health and Fitness goals and more…

What can I expect at an appointment? (Read More...)

Your first phone consultation is complimentary.  You will receive approximately 15 minutes of my time to see if we’d like to pursue working together toward your health goals.

Your initial virtual appointment will vary due to the unique needs of each person.  The average appointment for the initial comprehensive health analysis is approximately 60 minutes while we discuss your health history, your current concerns and your health goals.  I will then design an individual health plan specifically tailored to meet your needs which we will review and discuss at your next appointment.  This second appointment (averages between 60-90 min.) will also vary in time depending on the scope of the plan and your needs as a client.

Appointment Rates Vary

Clients are charged based on consultation time and if any testing is needed.

Phone and video appointments are prepaid by credit card at the time of the scheduled appointment.

Questions between Appointments

You are encouraged to call or email with questions regarding your plan.  There is no charge for simple, quick questions to confirm that you are understanding your plan according to our original discussion.  However, if you have new questions, need more in-depth consultation, or have questions regarding unrelated topics, it will be necessary to schedule an appointment; whether on the phone or in person.

Do you see children in your practice? (Read More...)

Yes.

Within the presence of and with a signed release from a parent or guardian, I work with children under the age of 18.

What happens if I need a prescription? (Read More...)

As a Nutritionist, I do not prescribe any medications.  However, I will work with you to incorporate your existing medications into your new plan.  I am also able to work closely with healthcare practitioners to ensure you are receiving the best of care.

Please list any current medications for clarification and prevention of drug/supplement interactions.

Insurance and Billing (Read More...)

Do you accept insurance?

Health Insurance companies generally do not accept claims from Nutritionists.  With that being said, there are those few exceptions.  You may benefit from reimbursement through your flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) with a doctor’s note of medical necessity.  I do not submit claims on your behalf but will provide you with an invoice which you may submit to your insurance company and/or FSA or HSA.  It’s always best to discuss with your plan’s administrator to see if you are eligible for reimbursement.

You will be expected to pay the bill in cash or credit card at the time of consultation.  For the services of Shopping Tours and Kitchen Guidance, a credit card will be required for these prepaid services.

Do I need a referral?

Because most insurers do not cover nutritional services, you should not need a referral.  However, it is always best to check with your health insurance provider for the rare cases that it may be required if you are able to submit your claim.
